Adelaide (Addie) Wilder Detmering went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022. She was born in Chesterfield, Missouri on Friday, June 10th, 2022, to Michael and Rebekah Detmering.
Though her time with us was short, she was beautiful and full of life. Her cry was music to her parents' ears. She had a cheeky reputation as "feisty" among her nurses. She could lift her head being born at just 35 weeks, could show a pacifier who's boss, and had a strong heart. Her parents loved the precious few moments they had with her: Addie squeezing their fingers, her sweet little eyes looking up at them, her sleeping in their arms, and them kissing her soft head.
All 18 of her long days were spent in various NICU's as she fought hard to stay alive. However, her last day was spent in a beautiful garden on a clear sunny day being held by mother and father for hours while surrounded by family. She drifted peacefully with her heart holding out longer than anyone expected.
The impact God has worked through her has already been felt as waves of people around her have been encouraged to be thankful towards the Lord for the gracious gift of life, and walk with an emboldened hope in a new heavens and a new earth where death will be no more. In these new heavens and new earth Addie's parents will see her again and be able to embrace her without end.
Addie is survived by her parents Michael and Rebekah Detmering; her grandparents - Charles and Janet Detmering, and Steve and Jada Inman; her uncles - Alexander Detmering, Christopher Detmering, and Benjamin Inman; her aunts - Sarah Detmering, Leslie LeBaron, Kayla Inman, and Tiffany Inman; and her cousin Baron "Bear" Detmering.
Michael and Rebekah Detmering request that donations be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers or gifts being sent to their home. You can give online here: https://www.stlouischildrens.org/giving
