Agnes Inez Jefferson

Agnes Inez (Raiford) Jefferson was born on June 21, 1937 to Inez (Cooper) and Arthur Raiford, in St. Louis, MO. She was the 7th of 8 children, and has been proceeded in death by her parents and her siblings, L.B. Eugene (Jack), Earl, Arthur (Cooter), Donald and twin sisters June & Jean.

Agnes attended Washington Technical High School, where she studied Cosmetology. She also attended Forest Park Community College, where she studied medical assistance. She later started working in nursing where she spent a 32-year career at St. Louis State Hospital from 1963 until 1995.

Agnes (A.J.) was an avid reader, one of her favorite authors was JAMES PATTERSON. She also enjoyed traveling to different Bingo halls and Casinos. She loved playing a friendly game of Black Jack with her family during back yard BBQ's and Holiday get togethers.
A.J. "MOMMY" touched the lives of many, she shared her home, her hope and her wisdom. She became a SURROGATE mother and Granny to ALL that knew her.

Agnes was the mother of eight children, the Late Casaundra, her oldest child who passed away at the age of 49, Thurman, LaDonna (Gary), Carolyn, two sets of twins, Carla & Stephen and Erica & Eric. She leaves to cherish her memory her Grandchildren, Charles Dion (Cheri), Gary Jr.(Cates), Ronnell, Duan (Crystal), Christopher, Sheena, Quaneedra, Stephen Jr., Alonzo "Rocky", William (Chanice), Kenneth, Yolanda, Michael, Tonya', Courtney & Collin. She also had 23 great-grandchildren, family friend Frank Booker, and a host of nieces, nephews & friends.
