Alan George Schroeder, of St. Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, January 26, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Karen Schroeder (nee Seabaugh) for more than 33 years; Devoted father of Victor (Tori) and Jeremy (Becky Block); Loving son-in-law to Hester and the late Donald Seabaugh; Loving uncle of Paul (Teresa) Schroeder, Trish (Derek) Cotton, Carley (Nicholas) Gumm and Morgan (Taiyana) Thomas-Poore; Loving great-uncle to Casey Schroeder (Jacob Neldon); Taylor (Chris) Rodriguez; Emily (Seth) Olson; Ali Cotton; Chase Cotton; Skylar Gumm and Adalyn Gumm; Loving great-great uncle to Keegan Olson; Dear brother-in-law to Rob and the late Cathy Thomas and Debi Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eldrid Schroeder and by his brother and sister-in-law Paul (Janet) Schroeder.
Al grew up in Florissant, Missouri. As a young child, his family became founding members of Church of the Master (UCC), where he learned his love for the Lord participating in and leading in the choir and music programs. Al and his family are current members of Grace River Church, in St. Peters, where he continued his involvement on the Worship Production Team.
Al graduated from North County Tech in 1976.
As a young adult Al enjoyed years of bowling with his dad and brother. He loved the outdoors and spent many summers in the family’s cabin on the Meramec River. He treasured spending time with family that gathered there for cookouts, fishing, boating, and tubing down the river. It was no surprise that he taught his son, Jeremy, to fish and when he became a certified scuba diver with his son, Victor, sharing his love of the water with them.
Al was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop 957 and served as Advancement Chairman. He previously served as Team Leader of the St. Charles Fire Rehab. And as a current member of the Lions Club of St. Peters.
Prior to his retirement in December, he spent 42 years working at StellarRAD Systems, LLC forming many long-lasting friendships with his co-workers.
Al had a gentle spirit with an inner strength of a warrior as a two-time cancer survivor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Al’s 's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO, from 9 a.m.-noon. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the visitation.
