Aleta R. Gibbs, age 64, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born in Granite City, Illinois on July 23, 1958 to Alex and Virginia Kovach (nee Barnes). She was married to "MikeGibbs" for 40 years. Aleta was a Sales Administrative Assistant at Stryker Corporation for more than 15 years . She was also secretary to the athletic department at Kirkwood High School for more than 10 years, where she was able to interact with countless students, coaches, and administrators, many of which remain her friends today. She was happy when she was also referred to as "Coach Gibbs". She loved her ability to positively impact many students who passed through her door.
Aleta's greatest passion was her grandchildren. But she also loved to travel and that often included her grandchildren as well as trips to Lake of the Ozarks as family visits or for private time with "MikeGibbs".
Aleta is survived by her Husband, Michael Gibbs; Two Sons, Eric (Heidi) Taylor, Ryan (Alysha) Gibbs; Six Grandsons, Nolan, Brendon, Hunter, Carson, Brody, Hudson; Sister, Judy (Tony) Cline; Brother, Edward (Oei) Kovach; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Son, Keith Christopher Gibbs; Father, Alex Kovach; Mother, Virginia Kovach; Brother, Alex Kovach; and Brother, Joseph Kovach.
Visitation will be Friday, July 28th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A short visitation will take place the following morning, July 29th, 2023 from 11:00am until 12:00pm with a memorial service taking place at 12:00pm at Newcomer St. Peters.
Aleta's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
