Andrea Bogue, 84, of Florissant, passed away Tuesday April 4th, 2023, after a long battle with dementia.
She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 14th, 1938, to Marian and Reginald Armstrong. Andrea grew up in the Panama Canal Zone and graduated from Cristobal High School in 1957. She moved back to the U.S. in 1958 where she met the love of her life, Arthur Bogue. They were married on August 15th, 1959, and were together for 36 wonderful years until they were tragically separated by Art's untimely death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Marian and Reggie, and her sister, Arden.
After Art's death, Andrea honored his memory by traveling to all of the places they planned to visit when he retired, and visited many countries all over the world. She volunteered for the meals on wheels program, and as an usher at the Fox theater in St. Louis. She was also an active member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Florissant and a member of the Panama Canal Society. She also enjoyed bowling, bunco and square dancing as well as riding as a passenger on her daughter's motorcycle.
She is survived by her two children: Mark Bogue (Michele) of King George, Virginia; and Su Scheffing (Phil) of Florissant, Missouri. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Tony Couch of Manchester, Missouri; Christina Redell (Richard) of Colonial Beach, Virginia; and Stephen Bogue (Jaimilee) of Fort Belvoir, Virginia. She will be missed by her six great-grandchildren: Julia, Jameson and Madelyn Bogue; and Jacob, Liam and Camille Couch.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to worldwildlife.org\species\polar-bear
A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, from 11 am to 12 pm Friday. Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home immediately after the viewing followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant. A celebration of life will be held following the burial; contact the family for more details.
