Andrew Louis Messmer

Andrew Messmer, age 87, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on December 27, 2017. Andrew was born on September 26, 1930 in St. Louis to the late Josef and Margot Messmer. Andrew married the love of his life, Clemma Sue Butler on August 30, 1958 and they spent the next 59 years together.

Andrew was employed as a claim manager for TransAmerica Insurance Company and retired in 1992 after 30 years of service. Andrew was especially proud to be the founder of the Spanish Lake Indian Ball League.

Along with his wife, Clemma Sue, Andrew is survived by his 2 Sons, Robert of St. Louis, MO, and David of Frisco, TX; 1 brother, Louis of St. Louis; and 2 granddaughters, Hannah Tanner of Phoenix, AZ, and Talia Maurice of McKinney, TX.

Andrew was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Sue Messmer; 3 brothers, Joseph Messmer, George Messmer, John Messmer; and 3 sisters, Margaret Castleman, Marie Westrich, and Catherine Whitley.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters). Andrew's Funeral Ceremony will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks at a later date. Family and friends are welcome to gather following the service at Rookies (3721 New Town Blvd, St. Charles, MO 63301).
