Anita F. Schene, lovingly known to all as a beacon of compassion and warmth, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, in Bridgeton, Missouri, at the age of 92. Born on May 7, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, Anita was a nurturing soul whose life was marked by unwavering dedication to her family and her church.
She was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Maria Angelo and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John D. Schene, who remains ever close in spirit. Anita was also predeceased by her siblings, Edith Woods and John (Pauline) Angelo, who, like her, embodied the values of love and kindness.
Anita's commitment to her family was unmatched; she is survived by five devoted children: Rosemary (Kenneth) Nicholas, John D. (Barb) Schene, Jr., Steven (Dianne) Schene, Richard J. (Rita) Schene, and Joan (Mark) Wilhelm. Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous other family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Anita was truly a loving, understanding, and protective spirit. Her passion for life shone brightly through her various interests; she wholeheartedly volunteered at the Shrine of Saint Joseph, demonstrating her commitment to her community. She also found joy in visiting the casino, sharing laughter and good times with those she loved.
The community is invited to honor Anita’s remarkable life with a visitation on January 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in St. Charles, Missouri. Following the visitation, a Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, with a subsequent gathering at 11:00 AM to share memories and celebrate her life. The interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum at 1:15 PM, where she will be laid to rest.
Anita F. Schene will forever be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her unyielding faith, and the countless lives she touched. Her spirit of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all those who were blessed to have her in their lives.
