Mildred “Ann” Dodge, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on August 4, 2024, in O'Fallon, Missouri. She was born on March 22, 1939, in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Truman B. Looney and Vera M. Baker.
Ann dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse after graduating from Barnes Hospital Nursing School. Her compassion and skills touched many lives as she selflessly gave her time and profession to inner-city medical clinics. Beyond her nursing career, Ann found joy in quilting for the Linus Project and Orphan Grain Train.
An avid quilter, gardener, watercolor painter, and calligrapher, Ann's creativity knew no bounds. Her talent and passion was evident in all of her hobbies and interests.
She is preceded by her father, Truman B. Looney, stepfather, Earl Klenn, mother, Vera M. Baker, brother, Sam Looney, sister, Vernell Gilmore, sister-in-law, Dot Looney, nephews, Robert Looney and Dan Looney.
Ann is survived by her loving husband John Dodge; children Cindy Quigley (Mike), Jeff Dodge (Stacey), David Dodge (Lydie); grandchildren Matthew Quigley, Adam Quigley, Nathan Dodge, Nicholas Dodge, Gretchen Dodge; brother Bob Looney; niece Sandra Wilson; nephew Chris Dodge; niece Susan Boeck; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Services to honor Ann's life will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376 on August 11th with visitation from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on August 12th at 10:30 AM at the same location before she is laid to rest at Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ann's name to the American Cancer Society and Awake Us Now Ministries.
Ann Dodge will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to helping others through nursing and crafting beautiful quilts for those in need. Her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
