Ann Louise Hearn

December 23, 1948 — October 20, 2021

Ann Louise Hearn, age 72, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 23, 1948 to Alphus and Cleo Grubbs (nee Foster) and spent a large part of her childhood residing in Rector, Arkansas until ultimately returning to Saint Louis in her late teens.
Ann is survived by her daughters Christie (Roger) Rodgers and Tonya Hearn; granddaughters Hailey Rodgers, Rorie Culley and Rylie Culley; and was an adopted "mom" and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alphus and Cleo Grubbs; grandson Quinton Rodgers; and siblings Paul (Mary) Grubbs, Leeneeta (Allen) Dodd, and Wanda (Herb) Combs.
Ann was well-known for living life unapologetically on her own terms. She had an eclectic career that ranged from being a hairstylist, working in healthcare, to pridefully serving and protecting the Fort Zumwalt School District as an overnight security guard until her retirement. Ann had a sassy, never afraid to "tell it like it is" personality that was as fiery as the red hair she sported until her later years and often just as shocking as her piercing ice-blue eyes. She was quick-witted, stubborn, talkative, and smarter than she'd ever let on to be. Ann was a fun-loving spirited woman who enjoyed Florida beach vacations, cruises, and the soulful sounds of Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley.
Following her wishes there will not be a formal service full of tears and sadness. Rather, an intimate celebration of her life will be coordinated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, well-wishers are encouraged to make a charitable donation in her honor to Stray and Orphaned Animal Rescue (S.O.A.R.) as Ann's love of rescue animals was well-known. Contributions to S.O.A.R. may be made via Venmo: @ChristinaSloan2650, or PayPal: strayandorphanedanimalrescue@gmail.com
