Anne Elizabeth Morris

January 26, 1946 — December 25, 2023

Anne Elizabeth Morris, age 77, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 25, 2023. She was born in Saint Louis City, Missouri on January 26, 1946 to Gloria Schlecht and adopted shortly thereafter by Edward and Jennie Dunne (nee Ross).

Anne was married to Jim Morris, the love of her life for 57 years. She embraced her role as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She deeply loved her family, showering them with boundless affection and cherishing every moment spent together. Anne was a woman whose elegance and grace defined her essence. Her impeccable sense of style was a testament to her vibrant spirit and unwavering poise. Her attention to detail was reflected not just in her attire but also in the way she approached life – with a refined taste for beauty in every aspect.

An amazing hostess who loved to entertain, Anne always made holidays, birthdays, weekend dinners and gatherings a special event to be celebrated together. She created beautiful tablescapes with antique china, silver, and lace linens alongside stunning floral arrangements, and of course delicious meals. She had a talent for decorating and created a beautiful, warm, and inviting home that welcomed everyone.

Anne was a devout Catholic and she loved to celebrate Christmas, so it's fitting that she was called to her eternal resting place on Christmas day. She brought light and laughter to all and was known for being incredibly kind and thoughtful to her family and friends.

Anne's passion for gardening blossomed in a landscape adorned with a myriad of vibrant blooms, nurturing a haven of roses, peonies, daylilies, irises, hydrangeas, and hostas. Indoors, her green thumb flourished, tending to an array of plants like orchids, amaryllis, hoyas, African violets, rabbit ferns and spider plants, each a testament to her nurturing spirit.

She was a talented antiques dealer who enjoyed collecting and curating an enchanting world of Haviland Limoges China, Czechoslovakia Art Deco perfume bottles, Harrison Fisher artworks, vintage hand mirrors, pink and green Depression Glass, Fenton cranberry glass, Russian hand crafted wooden Santas, and decorative ornaments that spoke volumes of her discerning taste.

She leaves behind a legacy of timeless elegance and an enduring impression of a woman who epitomized both inner and outer beauty. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her exquisite charm and the grace with which she adorned our lives.

Anne is survived by her Husband, James T. Morris Jr.; her children, James "Ted" Morris lll and Ginny Anne (Joe) Gittemeier; her granddaughters, Gabrielle Elizabeth Morris, and Sydney Marie Morris; her sister, Jane (Russ) Robinson; her nephews, Kyle Robinson, and Connor Robinson; and her sister-in-law, Joyclyn (Armand) Brodeur.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Gloria Schlecht; her father, Edward Anthony Dunne; and her mother, Jennie Dunne.
