Barbara Rey

Barbara Ann Rey (nee Gillette)., passed away April 28, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas D. Rey Sr. and son Thomas Jr., daughter-in-law Teresa and son Robert. She is also survived by two grandchildren Bethie (Jordan) Hoer (nee Rey), Nicholas (Jennifer) Rey and one Great Grandson Brody Hoer, she loved them all so very much. She was 79 years old. She was preceded in death by her father Percy Gillette and mother Vera Gillette. Barb began her formal education at the R3 School (now Francis Howell) in St. Charles County. Later, she attended Francis Howell High School upon graduation from high school, Barb attended and then graduated from a secretarial school in Maplewood. She later became a school bus driver for Francis Howell School District. She trained new drivers and drove for 23 years until her poor health forced her into early retirement. She joined the Eastern Star, a Masonic order for women, and attained the highest honor accorded a member – being named a Matron – and today still receives recognition from the society for that distinction. She also has been a longtime member of Emmanuel's Women's Fellowship. The Newcomers Funeral Home is caring for Rey's Family at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St Peters, MO 63376, where services will be conducted on, May 3, 2022, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment Emmanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery .
