Barbara Gale Smith , age 83, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in St. Louis,. She was born in Eminence, Missouri on January 23, 1939 to Charles and Gladys Deering (fry).

Barbara grew up in a small town in a Pentecostal family. She later met the love of her life Ronald, when she was a teenager. The two committed to spend their lives together and to the union two daughters were born. She worked as a hair dresser for 40 plus years and she went on to own her own beauty salon named Shear Genius in Bridgeton, Missouri. She enjoyed traveling with her family, going on fishing trips, and vacations.

Barbara had a passion for crocheting and she loved gifting her work to her loved ones. She enjoyed shopping and most of all spending time with her Grandchildren. Her Smile, laughter and kind spirit will be remembered by the ones she leaves behind.


Barbara is survived by her Daughter, Sherri Brown; two Grandchildren; Eight Great Grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Ronald L. Smith; Daughter, Debra R. McClain; Parents Gladys Deering and Charles Earl Deering.
