Benny E. Dickens

March 21, 1938 — September 28, 2023

Benny Everett Dickens aka "Uncle Ben", age 85, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Maplewood, Missouri on March 21, 1938 to Emmett and Ethel Dickens (nee Crawford).

Benny served in the Navy from 1956-1959 on the USS VulcanAR-5. He married the love of his life, Jacquelin Mantle Dickens, in Where they would love and provide for each other for 61 years. He would go to raise his 3 daughters Christine (Thomas) Harris, Brenda Dickens, and Leann (Jeffrey) Dickens-Long with patience, love, and understanding. He loved deeply for his 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He created many memories and taught them lessons that will live on with them forever.

Benny was a self-employed contractor for most of his life where he used his hands to build and beatify many peoples homes.
He was a fisherman of God and dedicated his life to serving him and being an active member in the church from being a deacon to playing Santa Clause during Christmas time. He served on 19 missions trips. From Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, local churches, and more. His last mission trip he served in was in Panama at the age of 81.

If you know Benny, he probably had a nickname for you. His sense of humor could light even the darkest of situations. His humor, strength, and love were contagious. Benny was dearly loved and will greatly be missed by all that knew him.

We know he's currently running around with his brothers- Michael and Victor, his sister, Ethel, and his parents Emmet and Ethel. He's drinking coffee out of his favorite coffee mug, catching fish, and giving everyone trouble.

As Uncle Benny would always say, "Be Good."

A funeral will be held for the immediate family. A celebration of life is going to be scheduled at a later date for any who want to pay their respects.

Memorial donations can be made in Benny's name to the First Assembly Church Mission trips fund. https://firstassemblychurch.onlinegiving.org/donate/login
