Bernard Donnelly

Bernard Donnelly, age 81, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Saint Charles, Missouri. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1941 to Hugh and Anna Donnelly (nee Callahan).

Bernard was an exuberant example of a life well-lived! He was a storyteller, geneology hobbyist, Irish music lover, true Fenian, animal lover, doting grandfather, hard headed SOB! And we loved him dearly! One of his favorite activities was escorting his English bulldog, Duchess for therapy to retirement communities. He loved a party, a parade or a hearty Irish wake. He would appreciate you celebrating his life with the gusto that he would. Wearing of the Green to his service would be appreciated.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Donnelly; his daughters, Margaret "Peggy" (Kurt) Hoefel, and Patricia (Kevin) Roloff; his daughter-in-law, Angelena Donnelly; his granddaughters, Ashley (Ryan) Fambrough, and Tamryn Hoefel; his grandson, Daniel Hoefel; his great-grandsons, Gavyn Allen, and Kadyn Allen; his brothers, Hugh "Donnie" Donnelly, and Joseph (Theresa) Donnelly; his sister, Eileen Roach; and a many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Paul Donnelly; his father, Hugh Joseph Donnelly; his mother, Anna Catherine Donnelly; his sister-in-law, Bernadette Donnelly; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Roach.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a funeral service at 6:00 pm, all on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
