Betsy Rose Emmenegger, born on September 17, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri, gracefully danced her way through life until she peacefully departed this world on December 26, 2024, in O'Fallon, Missouri, surrounded by her beloved family.
Betsy was a vibrant spirit, a beacon of joy whose radiant personality touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. With an infectious laughter that could light up any room, she was known for her fun-loving nature and her profound love for family and friends.
Betsy was a talented artist, creating beautiful works that were a reflection of her vivid imagination. Her artistic soul found companionship in her pets, especially the loyal German Shepherd, Holly, and her cherished cat, Kitty. Their playful antics certainly filled her heart with warmth and delight.
Betsy's family meant everything to her, and she took immense pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cindy (Taylor) Hardy, Barbara (Jim) Pletcher, Jana (Lucius Burch) Rosson, Gina (Kenny) Segars, and Dani (Mark) Taliaferro, and her sons, Erich (Ron Merritt) Emmenegger, Jimmy (Mary) Emmenegger, Kurt (Susan) Emmenegger, and Rob (Sheila) Emmenegger. Her legacy lives on in her 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who carry forward her love and spirit.
Betsy's remarkable journey also saw her become first runner-up in the Mrs. Missouri Pageant, a testament to her grace and poise. Her laughter and warmth were often shared during family gatherings, where her vibrant spirit drew everyone closer, creating unforgettable memories fueled by love and togetherness.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert Emmenegger, as well as her cherished parents, Lester and Bertye Van Sickle. Betsy also holds in her heart the memory of her late brother Jack (the late Bonnie) Van Sickle, and her sister Annette (the late George) Amann.
Betsy Rose Emmenegger leaves behind a legacy woven together by love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her spirit will continue to dance in the hearts of all who knew her, a true celebration of a life beautifully lived.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Ascension Catholic Church, 230 Santa Maria Drive, Chesterfield, Missouri 63005. She will be laid to rest in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
