Betty Ruhlman of St. Charles, MO passed away peacefully and entered into the Lord's Kingdom on July 19, 2023.
Loving wife of the late Edward A. Ruhlman. Cherished daughter of Joseph Steinmetz and Catherine Gallaher Steinmetz. Devoted mother of William (Cindy), Robert (Pamela) and the late Susan Ruhlman. Loving grandmother of Alaina (Jake) Borgen, Andrew (Kayla) Ruhlman, and Samantha Ruhlman. Caring great grandmother of Finn Borgen and Mason Biscan.
Betty was a successful business owner and longtime real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Gundaker. Prior to her real estate career, Betty and Edward owned and operated a chain of 5 Hallmark Card and Gift shops in the St. Louis area, including their first and flagship store, London Towne Shoppe at Clayton Road and Lindbergh Blvd.
Betty was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and a graduate of Washington University Business School. She met her future husband Edward, who was back home after serving in the Army in WWII, in class at Washington University. They were married in 1951 on campus at Graham Chapel.
Selling real estate was Betty's passion, she loved helping her clients and made many lifelong friends. Betty enjoyed being active in her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, playing the piano, playing bridge, and traveling.
A memorial service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Friday July 28th at 11:15 am, where she will be interned and reunited with Edward.
