Bill Dowdy, age 85, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was born in Dexter, Missouri on November 4, 1936 to Jack and Ruth Dowdy (nee Green).
Bill was married to his wife Bettie for 51 loving years. He loved his family and was proud of his grand children. He enjoyed cycling and everything about trains. He was strong in his faith with the Lord. He was a volunteer for his church and the City of Chesterfield. He was also a long-standing member of the Boeing Railroad club and the Boeing Bike club. He loved to travel, especially by train.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bettie Dowdy; his daughters, Penny J. (Donald) Buchmueller, and Becky R. (Matthew) Struckel; his grandchildren, Paige N. (David) Buffington, Brooke E. Buchmueller, Jeremy M. Struckel, and Lindsey S. Struckel; his brother, Bob (Frances) Dowdy; and his sister-in-law, Diane Dowdy. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruth Dowdy; and his brother, Jim Dowdy.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, West County Chapel, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on March 26, 2022 at Canaan Baptist Church, 5409 Baumgartner Rd, Saint Louis, MO with the service immediately following. The burial will take place at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri at 2:00 pm on March 26, 2022.
