Billie Matlock, age 82, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in O'Fallon, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 14, 1941 to William and Louise Vedall (nee Ward).
Billie is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Perry Matlock; loving son, Michael Matlock; dear sister, Cecilia (the late Gaylen) Perry, of Eugene, Oregon; and a host of other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Vedall; and mother, Louise Vedall.
Billie was a treasured wife, mother, and sister. One of her great passions was riding motorcycles, and she and her husband enjoyed many fun adventures traveling the country together. They took weekly motorcycle excursions to local towns, as well as long distance trips to Yellowstone and beyond.
She was also a fiercely compassionate woman, who very selflessly volunteered as a test subject for St. Louis University Medical School in the early stages of treatment development for patients suffering with AIDS. She felt that anything she could do to help that cause was worthy of her effort, and through her willingness to help, she was able to make a positive contribution to future patients' long term survival.
Billie is lovingly remembered for her kind, generous heart, and adventurous spirit. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billie's honor to amFAR: The Foundation for AIDS Research.
