Brenda G. Rogers, born on April 22, 1954, in Summerville, Georgia, quietly passed away on December 30, 2024, at her home in St. Peters, Missouri, with her beloved family by her side. She was a vibrant spirit, whose generous heart touched all who knew her. Her life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to her family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to call her theirs.
Brenda was not just a wife, mother, and grandmother; she was the cornerstone of her family, ardently supporting her loved ones through thick and thin. Her unwavering commitment to her husband, Kenny Rogers, children, Louise (Tony) Mackey and Melissa (Ricardo) Ortiz, and her grandchildren, Lexie, August, Nicholas, Lupa, Caine, Joaquin, Joseph, and Alex, was evident in everything she did. To her, nothing mattered more than the pride in their accomplishments and the joy that filled their gatherings. Her resolute spirit was often expressed in her favorite saying: “It’s my way or the highway,” a reflection of her strong-willed nature and determination to see her family thrive.
Brenda's personality was brightened by her infectious love for life. Her hobbies included playing Bingo, trying her luck at the Casino, and cheering for her beloved Cardinals baseball team. These activities brought her joy and a sense of community that she cherished deeply. She possessed a candidness that many admired—it was always refreshing to hear her speak her mind, and her good-hearted nature made her truly unforgettable.
In addition to her role as a dedicated family member, Brenda extended her heart to her siblings: brothers Geary, Mark, Rick, and R.D. Bazzil, and sisters Shelly Scott, Carla Horak, and Tammy Perkins. Their love for one another was a source of strength, and her many nieces and nephews held a cherished place in her heart.
Brenda is now reunited in eternal rest with her mother, Julia Margaret Smith, whose foundation shaped her every moment. As her family comes together to honor her memory, they will forever carry her legacy of love, generosity, and spirited determination.
As they gather to remember her memorable life, the community is invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 12 PM, also at the same location. Brenda will then be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, with services beginning at 1:45 PM.
Brenda G. Rogers will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will live on in the laughter and love of her family, who continue to celebrate her life and the many lessons she imparted to them.
