Bruce Dale Walker was born May 27, 1950 in Belleville, Illinois to Dale Tymeson and Eleanor
Elaine (nee Pitchford) Walker. He was born again on April 12, 1973 by the grace and
regenerating work of God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He passed from this life into glory on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in St. Charles, Missouri.
Bruce graduated from S. I. U. Carbondale with a B. A. in Mathematics and a M. S. in Computer
Science. He also graduated from the Criswell College with a M. Min. degree. He was
ordained to the Gospel ministry on May 18, 1980 by the North Euless Baptist Church. Bruce
loved to study, to preach, and to teach the Word of God. He served as pastor of Silex Baptist
Church for six years, pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church for seven years, taught at the Criswell
College for one year, Missouri Baptist University for 20, and Maryville University for 6 years.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kyle. He is survived by his wife
and best friend, Debra (Rohr), nine children, Sonja (Tim) Green, Jeremy (Lisa) Walker, Jessica Walker-Livingston, Sarah Kaatman, Emily (Tyler) Gant, Ariana Walker, Elise Groezinger,
Bethany (Ray) Skinner, Christian Walker, twenty two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Next to the Lord, Bruce loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren more than anything
in this world.
Bruce was an avid learner and enjoyed history (particularly Protestant Reformation history), genealogy and translating the Bible from the original Greek. He loved teaching students of all ages and he preached the Gospel faithfully whenever given the opportunity. He loved reading, writing and listening to classical music. He loved giraffes for their uniqueness and how they show God's creativity in the world.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm at Highland View Baptist Church (3220 Droste Rd, St Charles) on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.A funeral service will begin at 12pm. The Burial Service will immediately follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri.
