C. David "Dave" Schmucker entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the age of 82 after a valiant fight after a fall and a brain bleed. Dave was born on March 26, 1942, in Wauseon, Ohio to Carl and Melba Schmucker.
Devoted husband of Debbie Schmucker for over 33 years. Loving father of Tim Schmucker, Joy Smith and Craig (Missy) Schmucker. Dearest Papa to granddaughters Nicole Smith, Kelsey Sullivan, Bailey Simpson and Emily Watts. Best great grandfather, Papa, to Aubrianna Smith, Zoey Flood, Saylor Watts, Ivee Watts, Walker Sullivan, Chandler Sullivan, Hudson Simpson and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl S. Schmucker; his mother, Melba C. Schmucker; and his brother, Dean Allen Schmucker.
Raised in Archbold, Ohio he started his career as a counselor at a boy's home. He owned a pizza parlor and was a credit executive until he relocated to St. Louis with Atapco Office Products. In 1996 he became president of Business Products Credit Association until his retirement in 2010.
Dave and Debbie established D&D Embroidery creating many cherished shirts, jackets and hats, for his many friends associated with the Moolah Shriners as well as many commercial customers.
Dave's passion was his involvement in Moolah Shriners where his accomplishments were many.
He served as an Aide Emeritis, an Ambassador, and a valued member of YOMO, serving as Director for many years, Gateway 500, OSU, Order of the Quetzalcoatl, being recognized with their honor of Knights, Eagles and Tigers (OKET No. 21-40).
Dave left all that knew him a legacy of kindness, leadership, friendship and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Oasis Room at Moolah Shrine. Service will begin at 6:00 with a Q service at 6:15 and a Masonic service at 6:30.
