Carl "Zeke" Zagar , age 79, of Hartford, Illinois passed away on September 29, 2019 Sunday. He was born in Alton, Illinois on Tuesday, July 16, 1940 to Louis and Lillian Zagar (nee Votrain).
Early Sunday morning the most beautiful, loving, caring, and extraordinary man who took my breath away over 45 years ago took his last breath and crossed over to be with our Lord. I know he is at peace and not struggling any longer. There are no words to describe our loss. He changed my world the day I met him and filled my life with pure unbridled love. He was a humble man who never spoke an unkind word of anyone and always saw the best in everyone. He was an avid reader and loved history. His family meant everything to him. He enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with family and friends. He love to travel and was able to use his wit and sense of humor to get through the difficult times. He always put the needs of his children and others ahead of his own. He was the love of my life. I met this wonderful man when I was just 18 and it was love at first sight. He taught me so much and I experience my first of everything with him. He tried so hard to stay here for me, his kids and grandkids and always worried about us. I prayed every single day to God to give me just one more day with this incredible man, but I know God in all his wisdom saw that he had struggled enough and saw that it was time to call him home. I'm sure that both of his parents and my Dad & Mom are welcoming him home and celebrating with him up in heaven. Now I must go on but my joy has been taken from me. I will always have a lifetime of beautiful memories to help me go on. He was a true example to our kids and grandkids of how to live your life. I thank God for giving me and blessing me this beautiful man whom I had the honor to share my life with and experience my first of everything with. I will always love you and hold on knowing that one day we will be together again.
