Carol Nichols Cameron

December 6, 1955 — November 21, 2018

"The beloved Carol Nichols Cameron, age 62, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018. She was born December 6, 1955 in St. Louis, MO to the late Robert Nichols and Eileen Nichols.

Her laugh, sense of humor and smile would brighten a room. She had the most selflessness, giving, and genuine nature and always thinking of others before herself.

She was adored by everyone she met and left a lifetime imprint on everyone's heart. She took pride in her family, as they were always first.

While she was an amazing friend, sister, aunt and cousin, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother to her two daughters and grandson.

A graduate of Pattonville High School class of '74, she entered the US Navy after graduation and became the 1st ever female Boatswain Mate Petty Officer in the Navy.

Her love of sports, specifically baseball, led her to help coaching her daughters' softball teams and becoming a "softball mom" to all the girls on each of the teams her daughters played on. Later in life she began umpiring youth baseball & softball again, as she did when she was younger. Umpiring was one of most favorite joys in her life being able to be a mentor to younger umpires and players for 20 plus years. She left a lasting legacy and was well respected in the baseball/softball community by not only other umpires & players, but coaches and parents too. Her love of umpiring led to one of her most proudest moments in her life, being chosen to umpire at Little League Baseball Tourney at the Dream Fields in Cooperstown, NY.

The other joy in her life was her grandson, Logan. He was the light of her life and he is what got her through these last few years and last few months.

She is survived by her Grandson, Logan Cameron; Her two Daughters, Dawn Cameron and Nicole Cameron; Her Sister, Dianne Kemp and Brother-in-law, Randy Kemp; Her brother, Robert Nichols; Her ex-husband, Stephen Morty Cameron; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Robert Nichols, and Mother, Eileen Nichols.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the family c/o, Dawn Cameron, to help with funeral expenses."
