Carolgene Herold, a cherished resident of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on December 24, 1927, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Carol's life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family and her love for the simple joys in life.
Throughout her life, Carol was known for her nurturing spirit and her ability to bring joy to those around her. She found happiness in sewing, gardening, and spending time in nature, which reflected her vibrant personality. A devoted animal lover, she cared for many dogs and cats over the years, each finding a special place in her heart. Carol also held a deep appreciation for the holidays, relishing occasions spent with her beloved family and friends.
Her children were the proudest accomplishment of Carol's life. She was an affectionate mother to her 4 children: David Herold, Jayne Heath, Robert Herold, and James Herold. Carol dedicated herself to their well-being and happiness, always ready to support them in every endeavor.
Carol is survived by 3 sons, David (Kim) Herold, Robert Herold, and James Herold, five grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Orf, Abigail (Chris) Huskey, Jennifer (Jon) Brown, Riley Herold, and Lauren Heath, as well as five great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Molkenbur; her mother, Hattie (Snyder) Molkenbur; her husband, Norman Francis Herold; her daughter, Jayne Heath; and her two sisters, Ruth Little and Melba Fay. Their memories help shape the legacy that Carol leaves behind—a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
A Graveside Service will be held in her honor on September 19, 2024, starting at 11:15 AM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Please group at 11:00 am at Sylvan Springs Park (Parking Lot) near Jefferson Barracks.
A Celebration of Life for Carol will take place Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Sugar Creek Winery, 125 Boone Country Lane, Defiance, MO 63341. The family invites all who knew and loved Carol to join in this moment of remembrance and farewell.
