Catherine (Cathy) Renee Sudheimer, born on November 11, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at SSM St. Joseph Hospital, St. Charles, Missouri. Cathy attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Cottleville, Missouri. She attended St. Dominic High School, and later Francis Howell High. Cathy was a long-time member of All Saints Parish in St. Peters, Missouri. Cathy was an amazing woman, loved by every one who knew her. God's special gifts to Cathy were her bright positive mind, witty jokes, beautiful smile, and a very kind heart. Cathy worked as a "Volunteer Youth-In-Need Counselor" at Lindenwood University in her earlier years. She was a skillful carpenter and very mechanically inclined. She worked at "Penn Emblem" as an embroiderer. She worked at Monsanto for many years in the fabrication and evolving of silicon wafers' technology, contributing to the assembly of computer chips and other innovative technologies that transformed our world. The jobs Cathy loved the most, and was most proud of, were - taking care of her dear sweet beloved Mother in her final years, and that of helping to raise her many nieces and nephews, who told her she was like a mother to them. Cathy was gifted in writing, poetry, art, home decorating, cooking, baking, and gardening. Like her father, she could fix about anything.
Cathy embraced the joy of giving, always making her loved ones feel cherished. She loved to send small gifts home with her visitors (especially her nieces and nephews). Cathy loved to prepare and share food with those in need, the elderly, and the disabled, and bring smiles to their faces. With the good Lords protection, Cathy was a two-time cancer survivor. She loved to sit on her front porch in her wheelchair and greet any passersby with warmth and kindness. Cathy was a nurturing soul, with a strong Christian Catholic faith, which was her greatest gift.
Cathy's passions were spending time with her family (especially her nieces and nephews) and friends, spending time at her beloved All Saints Church, and tending to her beloved potted plants and flowers. She loved reading about the lives of the saints and sharing their stories with others. She collected statues of the Saints, but her favorite, most precious statue, was that of our beloved Mother Mary. She would always plant beautiful flowers around Mother Mary.
Catherine leaves behind her cherished siblings: Donald G. (Amelia) Sudheimer, Carol Ann (David) Mayer, and Sharon Marie Stevens. Her legacy continues through her nieces and nephews, Christopher Sudheimer, Michael Sudheimer, Steven Sudheimer, Duane Crites, Cheri Young, Lora Johnson, Melissa Linck, Michelle Sarnes, Bernard Sarnes, Teresa Sarnes, Krystal Sarnes, Leslie Lampley, Sonya Lampley, Amanda Baker, Rebecca Sudheimer, Markie Sudheimer, Abe Sudheimer, Shannon Jaycox, Jared Sudheimer, and Shawn Sudheimer as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, and great grandnieces and great grandnephews who were all touched by her loving presence. She will also be remembered by the many children and adults, whose lives she touched with her loving and selfless nature.
In addition to her surviving family, Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Henry George and Dorothy Mary Sudheimer, her brothers, James Henry Sudheimer, Gerard Louis Sudheimer, John Henry Sudheimer, and her dear nephew, Jesse Wayne Crites.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Catherine Renee Sudheimer, let us remember her unwavering kindness, her many gifts from God with which she touched so many lives - with those fortunate enough to have known her. May her gentle spirit and true saintly example continue to inspire selflessness, love, and joy in all our hearts. We will miss this precious lady, but we know she will be watching over and praying for us all in God's Heavenly Paradise!
