Cecil Wayne Ayers, age 87, of Warrenton, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in Warrenton, Missouri. He was born in Union City, Tennessee on August 31, 1935 to Arthur and Annie Ayers (nee Taylor).
A dedicated Jehovah's Witness, and devoted family man; Cecil was born in Union City, TN but spent much of his life between Mississippi and the St. Louis area. Cecil was humble, self-sacrificing, hardworking, and straighforward.
In addition to his love for family and friends, Cecil had a passion for traveling with Shirley, listening/playing music, learning new things, working on projects, and to him nothing beat a home-cooked meal. He leaves us all with many fond and cherished memories.
Cecil is survived by his Wife, Shirley Ayers; his sons, Gary Ayers (Terry Leap), and Steven (Nora) Ayers; his daughters, Josephine (Loyd) Caldwell, Karen (Gary) Friedeck; his daughter-in-law, Sheila Ayers; his grandchildren, Tonia (Jeff) Baker, Larry Caldwell, Christina (Justin) Wood, Melissa (David) Housman, Garrett (Nichole) Welker, and Greg (Emily) Welker, Owen (Clarissa) Friedeck, Dawson Friedeck; his great-grandchildren, Asia, Logan, Grace, Jacob, Ariena, and Ryker; his sister, Geneva (the late Norman) Marler; his brothers, John (the late Sue) Ayers, and Ron (the late Phyllis) Ayers; his brother-in-law, Danny Charleville; and his sister-in-laws, Carol Ayers and Cathy Ayers and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Louis Ayers; his father, Arthur Ayers; his mother, Annie Ayers; his sisters, Nellie Ayers, Christine (Barney) Lyles, Betty (James) Caldwell, Patsy (Vernon) Armon, and Shirley Charleville; and his brothers, Lynn Ayers, David Ayers, Robert (Marty) Ayers;
