Charles E. Bryan, 82, of Saint Charles, MO passed Sunday September 5, 2021 at home.

Charles was born October 5, 1938 in Rural Leasburg, Missouri to George and Lola Bryan and graduated from Steelville High School in 1957. He was drafted in the United States Army in 1961 and served until 1963. He married Mary Hasty May 21, 1966.

Charles worked as an operator for the St. Louis County Water Company for 32 years and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid hunter along with his trusty bird dogs. Charles loved playing softball in various leagues. He also introduced cork ball to his Army buddies while stationed in Germany. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, reader of Zane Grey books and loved John Wayne movies "The quiet Man" being his favorite. He also enjoyed watching the many cardinals and blue birds that he fed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and (sisters) Lois Gerling, Mary Low, Wanda Ray (brothers) Jewel Bryan, Jim Bryan, Wendell Bryan, Russel Bryan and Lindel Bouse.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary A. Bryan and their son Matthew Bryan. Norma Sapington of Cottleville, MO (sister) Georgia Bryan of St. James, MO (sister) Velma Allison of Cuba, MO (sister) and Roy Bryan of St. Charles, MO (brother).
