Charles “Chuck” Kelsay Foster II, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles “Chuck” and Betty Jo (nee Miller).
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cassie (nee Stanton), his brother William “Bill”, his children Cassie (Brandon) and Vaughn, and his three grandchildren, Patrick, Clayton and Philip.
Chuck was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 2, 1948 to Charles and Betty Jo Foster. From an early age, he displayed a remarkable intellect and a passion for sports. Chuck was proud of his roots and childhood in Webster Groves. He graduated from Webster Groves High School where he was a standout baseball and basketball player. Chuck went on to play both collegiate baseball and basketball at Northwest Missouri State University.
Chuck was deeply committed to his family. He met the love of his life, Cassie (of Irish descent), on St. Patrick’s Day 1974. They went on to marry later that year and would have been married 50 years in November. Together, they raised two children, Cassie Marie and Vaughn Patrick.
After retiring from sales in 2001, Chuck found a passion in returning to teaching in the Hazelwood School District. For over a decade, Chuck was loved by his colleagues and students.
In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Chuck made many memories with his children on the golf course and tennis court alike. His athleticism and ambitions were admirable to both his children who took pride in playing competitive sports. Chuck was a Revolutionary War and Civil War historian and enjoyed traveling the country visiting many battlegrounds and historical sites.
Please join us to honor and celebrate Chuck’s life at St. Joseph Parish in Cottleville on Saturday, August 3rd. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.
Chuck will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
