Charles H. Johnson, 75, of O'Fallon passed away Friday March 8, 2024.
He was born to the late Charles T. and Marie Johnson, March 13, 1948, in Chicago, IL. Charlie graduated from Ritenour High School in 1966. Charlie joined the Army soon after graduating in 1966, he proud member of the Signal Corps, and did a tour in Vietnam. After returning home from overseas he met and married Cindy Mitarnowski and moved to Hazelwood.
Charlie started his civilian career in television installation and repair, later to transition in to telephone and IT installation and repair. Charlie later retired from this field in 2007, to get his CDL, to become a school bus driver specializing in after school activities, to pursue his true passion for High School Sports.
One of Charlie's hobbies was to camp with the Boy Scouts and was a Scout Master for many years.
Charlie's main hobby in his retirement was golfing, taking multiple trips a year with this brothers and golfing friends.
Charlie is survived by his Wife Cindy of 52 years; his 2 children, Charles M. Johnson, and Christie Johnson; and his 6 siblings, David (Yuriko) Johnson, Steve (Dena) Johnson, Jim (Linda) Johnson, Greg (Teresa) Johnson, Judy (Roy) Raines, and Eric (Chris) Johnson
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The American Lung Association.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a celebration of life at 6:00 pm all on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Saint Peters, Missouri 63376. A private burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks on Monday, March 25th.
