Charles Gary Wilson, 72, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his home in Wildwood, Missouri, with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Gayle Yvonne (Bopp); daughter, Amanda Maureen (Richard Davis); son, James Adam (Michelle Pompe); five grandchildren, Ashley Mia Davis, Savannah Lauren Davis, Brooke Madalyn Davis, Raina Ann Wilson, and Benjamin Henry Wilson; sister, Phyllis Grossman (David); sister in law, Carole Wilson; and by marriage Aunt Audrey Podjeski. He is preceded by his late father Benjamin, mother Faye, and brother David.

Chuck loved his family with passion and had a kind hearted spirit that spread to anyone that met him. He cared deeply about others and the environment and he truly made the world a better place. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Chuck had a strong love of learning and put his all into everything he did. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, sports, reading, writing stories, music, bird watching, gardening, wood working, and walking his dog around his neighborhood.

Chuck was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from University City High School and University of Missouri in St. Louis. He earned degrees in history and accounting. After graduating, he became a Certified Public Accountant. Chuck had an impactful career in the business world including serving as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, and Board Member for SCS Compute, Inc. Later, he was a Business Consultant and then went on to be Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Avchem Inc. After his retirement, he was an active volunteer with several organizations, including Litzsinger Road Ecology Center, The Green Center, and Oasis Tutoring. He also volunteered as a tax preparer for Gateway EITC and was a mediator for St. Louis Conflict Resolution Center.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Siteman Cancer Center, National Kidney Foundation, or Our Little Haven.
