Cheryl Hlavaty

Cheryl Sue Hlavaty, age 73, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. She was born in St. Charles, Missouri on December 16, 1950 to Melvin and Joyce McCoy (nee Tuttle). 

A devoted believer, Cheri found strength and solace in her Christian faith, which guided her through life’s challenges and joys. In 1971, Cheri married Bill Hlavaty, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and a shared love of music. They enjoyed traveling where their bond grew stronger with each adventure, and their commitment to each other was an enduring testament to true partnership. 

Cheri is survived by her husband, William Hlavaty IV; two daughters, Lara (Jeff) Williams, Katie (Cory Everett) Govero; son, William "Billy" (Sara) Hlavaty V; ten grandchildren, Sophie Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Carson Everett, Avery Hlavaty, Sydney Everett, Jack Govero, Ella Hlavaty, Camden Everett, William Hlavaty VI, Adelyne Hlavaty; seven siblings, Tim (Sheila) McCoy, Terry Holloway, Connie (Neil) Broidy, Rick McCoy, Cindy Smith, Scott (Sunye) McCoy, Vicky (Tony) Keifer; sister-in-law, Mary Nell McCoy; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Margaret McCoy; father, Melvin Hicks McCoy; grandchild, Joey Govero; three Siblings, Gary McCoy, Floyd McCoy, Melvin "Chipper" McCoy; brother-in-law, Lynn Holloway; sister-in-law, Kathy McCoy; mother-in-law, Barbara Hlavaty; father in law William Hlavaty III.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 3:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
