Claire Ann Guitar

February 12, 1939 — March 2, 2023

Claire Ann Guitar, age 84, of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Saint Charles, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 12, 1939, to Hilbert and Vera Schoeninger (nee Barkhoefer).

Claire enjoyed spending time at her home in Naples, Florida with her husband, Bill. She loved to walk the beach for hours and collect shells. If not in Naples, she was enjoying time with family and friends at their home at Lake of the Ozarks. The lake is where the family spent their time boating, tubing and skiing. She taught each grandchild how to play solitaire. She loved Happy Hour and a cold glass of milk before bed. Bill, the love of her life, has been waiting patiently for "Claire-Bell" for 17 years, to be reunited with his sweetheart. Claire was deeply loved and adored by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our lives have forever been filled with love, happiness and a lifetime of sweet memories to cherish.

Claire is survived by her daughters, Wendy (William) McDonald, Cynthia (Robert) Duchild, and Laura (Geoff) Meyerkord; her sons, Gregory (Theresa) Pope, and David Pope; her step-son, Kevin Guitar; her granddaughters, Ashley (David) Hechler, Megan (Thomas) Spann, Kaitlyn Duchild, Madison Pope, Kayla Pope, Emma Pope, Kelsey Meyerkord, Kylie Meyerkord, and Katie Meyerkord; her grandsons, Travis (Alexandra) McDonald, Mason McDonald, Alexander Duchild, Tyler Duchild, Brock Pope, Connor Pope, and Jacob Meyerkord; her great-grandsons, Michael Hechler, Luke Hechler, John McDonald, Leo McDonald, and Jackson Spann; her great-granddaughters, Ella Hechler, Olivia Spann; and her brothers, Hilbert (Janis) Schoeninger, and Terrence (Sue) Schoeninger; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Guitar; her father, Hilbert Schoeninger; her mother, Vera Schoeninger; her step-daughter, Sheryl (the late Michael) Boelling; and her sister, Laurell (the late Loren) Sloan.
