Clarence "Les" Ouellette Jr., age 79, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in St. Peters, Missouri. He was born in Bremmerton, Washington on October 7, 1941 to Clarence and Elizabeth Ouellette (nee Sullivan).
Les grew up in Butte, Montana, and after graduating high school, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in June 1961. He was assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 331 (VMA-331) as an aircraft jet engine mechanic and his time included a rotation in the Mediterranean Sea aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal between 1964-1965. After meeting Dianne Stephens while home on leave, he married her in December 1963. They had three children and were married for 32 years when she predeceased him. Once his USMC enlistment ended, Les worked for Delta Airlines for 29 years, retiring in December 1994 as a customer service supervisor. Then he stepped into his next career, that of a bus driver in the Frances Howell School District for 19 years. Since then, Les enjoyed retired life with his grandchildren and fur-babies, Sadie and Lucy.
Les is survived by his current wife of 17 years, Regenta Ouellette (nee Whitrock) of Saint Peters, MO; daughter, Paula (Andrew) Gates of Saint Peters, MO; son, Daniel Ouellette of Hazelwood, MO; son, Donnie Ouellette of Wentzville, MO; step-son, Jon (Lisa) Giddens of Saint Charles, MO; step-son, Eric Giddens of Austin, TX; step-daughter, Jennifer Giddens (Chad Izard) of Saint Peters, MO; his grandchildren, Carson Giddens, Dillon Ouellette, Aria Izard and Xander Izard; his sister-in-law, Linda Ouellette of Princeton, IL; and his brother-in-law, Richard Thomas of Smyrna, TN; He will be missed by a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence (Elizabeth) Ouellette, Sr.; his brothers, Gary (Pat) Brookins and Bob Ouellette; and his sister, Phyliss Thomas.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Newcomer. Interment will follow.
