Clarence Edward Schaffner

Clarence Edward Schaffner, age 91, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born in Bloodland, Missouri on December 19, 1932 to John and Lydia Schaffner (nee Wade). 

Clarence was self employed and managed and operated Capri Kitchens Custom Cabinets for many years. Later went on to owned and operated Esquire Kitchens and Mid Rivers Marble located in Old Town St. Peters from 1959 - 2005 until retirement. Clarence and Glenda loved traveling across the United Sates in their mobile home. Usually a square dance was on the agenda. Each October, warm weather in Texas, was a great place to land for 3 months and square dance all over the valley, then home again. They always missed their grandchildren. Clarence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother; who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Clarence was loving uncle and friend to many. Clarence proudly and honorable served in the United States Army for 3 years in Korea and is a Korean War Veteran. 

Clarence is survived by his wife, Gelnda Schaffner; son, Doug Schaffner; four grandchildren, Derek Schaffner, Cody Schaffner, Kaitlyn Schaffner, Jasper Schaffner; sister, Glenda Sue Halterman; sister-in-law, Judith Hancock; and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Charles Schaffner; mother, Lydia Velma Schaffner; eight siblings, Dorothy Cruse, Georgene Alexander, Marie Henning, Helen Allen, John Schaffner, Mary McNally, Sharon Kay Schaffner, and James Schaffner. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:30 am with a Funeral Ceremony immediately following at 11:30 am Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:30 pm.
