Cleatus Henry Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 25, 2024, at the age of 90, in Bridgeton, Missouri. He was born on December 27, 1933, in Malden, Missouri, to the late Archie and Millie Marie (Roland) Jones.
Cleatus was a devoted husband to Lucy Marie (Whitehead) Jones, and together they shared a loving marriage for almost 71 years.
Cleatus attended Slicer School in Malden, Missouri, and began his career journey at Pepsi in Malden, MO, before working diligently at various employers including Mound City Cold Storage in St. Louis, MO, Buick in Flint, Michigan, and General Motors, fondly known as "Generous Motors," in St. Louis and Wentzville, Missouri.
In addition to his dedication to work, Cleatus was a cherished member of his community and Calvary Temple. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.
Cleatus is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Marie Jones, his siblings Charity Stanley, James Jones, Hazel Mangrum, and David Jones, and his grandson Kyle Pauley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Marie Jones, his children Michael S Jones and wife LaDonna, Ricky M Jones and wife Ingrid, Tameria W Wells and husband Craig, and Mark B Jones and wife Brenda. He is also survived by his sisters Thelma Ingram and her husband, James, and Beatrice Wicks, as well as sister-in-law Linda Richardson and her husband, Bill. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
Cleatus will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Stephanie (Jones) Pingel and husband Dan, Jenny (Jones) Reeves and husband Kevin, Dale Jones and fiancé Melissa Brannon, Brett Jones and wife Amanda, Hanna Jones, Kimmie (Pauley) Worthen and husband Shawn, Abigael (Usry) Schmeeckle and husband Zane, Quincy Alexander Usry and wife Justine, Mark Jones Jr. and wife Alexandria, Victoria Wells, Craig (Hunter) Wells II and wife Sarah, and Emma Claire Jones.
He will also be remembered fondly by his great-grandchildren Noah, Josephine, and Maxxwell Pingel, Jett and Luna Jones, Houston and Leo Worthen, Magnolia and Eloise Wells, and Ariel Cox.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 3930 McClay Rd, St. Charles, Missouri. A memorial service to celebrate Cleatus's life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:00 am at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 3930 McClay Rd, St. Charles, Missouri. A private burial will take place at Valhalla Cemetery in Saint Louis on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Cleatus will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
