Colette Walsh

Colette Walsh (nee Barclay), 87, of Chesterfield, Missouri, was Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

Colette was born July 16, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the daughter of Raymond and Mary Ruth (nee Kennedy) Barclay.

Loving wife of the late Martin P. Walsh Jr.; Loving mother of Martin (Jodi) Walsh III, Brian (June) Walsh, the late Sheila (Paul) Jarasek, Raymond (Carol) Walsh, and Linda (Patrick) Ryan; Beloved grandmother of Alexandra, Caitlin, Paul Jr., Laura, Benjamin, Raymond Jr., Courtney, Brandon, Ashley, Martin, Mary, Brenna, Conor, Ronan, Kaylee, Aidan, and Declan; Beloved great grandmother of Paul Jarasek III; Loving sister of the late Lynette (Bob) Welshon, Kenwyn (Jim) Hopper and Raymond (Sandy) Barclay; Loving Aunt of four nephews and three nieces; and friend to many.

Colette attended Nerinx Hall High School and graduated from Maryville College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.

Colette was a dedicated educator and taught English / Drama at St. Ursula Academy High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, followed by 25 years at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Grade School as a teacher, religion coordinator, and assistant principal.

Colette loved books, and enjoyed lively discussions with the members of her book clubs. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her family, and spoiling everyone with “Fancy” desserts.

Colette had a passion for theatre having spent time as a performer, director, and enthusiast. She always had season tickets somewhere!

Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th, at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 2211 Clarkson Rd. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 15th at ST. GABRIEL the ARCHANGEL CHURCH, 6303 Nottingham Ave. Burial to follow at MT. OLIVE CEMETERY.
