Constance Rose Trautman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024. She was 95 years old.
Born to Elsie and Bernard Schaper, she grew up in St. Louis City, where she developed her kind-hearted nature and zest for life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loida Trautman, in November 2008, and her dear brother, Norbert Schaper and parents, Elsie and Bernard Schaper, and her brother-in-law, Donald Trautman. She is survived by her son, Richard (Michele) Trautman, granddaughters Jennifer Fitzgerald, Kim (Thomas) Dannenberg, and Ashley (Austin) Klein, great grandmother to Luke Fitzgerald, Avery Klein, and Andrew Dannenberg. She will be dearly missed by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
During her working years, Connie dedicated herself to providing excellent service as a valued employee of Famous Barr. Her dedication and work ethic were admired by all who knew her.
In her leisure time, Connie found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing bingo, dining out with loved ones, and embarking on adventures across the United States.
Upon retiring, she continued to spread happiness through her part-time work at a local florist, where her creativity and love for flowers blossomed.
Connie was a pillar of strength and support for her family. She was a sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, great-aunt, and friend, always ready with a listening ear and a warm embrace.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
In honoring her memory, let us celebrate the remarkable life of Connie, whose impact on all who knew her will never be forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 until 11:00 am with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am all on March 20, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 221 1st Capitol Dr, Saint Charles, MO 63301. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Saint Louis.
