Craig Martin

May 9, 1952 — August 11, 2024

Craig Martin, age 72, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 11th, 2024. He was born in Liverpool, England, on May 9th, 1952, to parents David and Maureen Martin (née Pickering). He was a devoted and adored son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, cousin, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His family traveled to America on the Queen of Elizabeth ship in 1963 and resided in Oakland, NJ. He graduated from Indian Hills High School in 1970 and then moved to St. Louis in 1971. He loved America and became a US citizen in 1986. Craig had a 25-year career in the airline industry. He started with Ozark, aka (TWA) and retired from American Airlines in 2006. Craig moved to Lake St. Louis in 1999. He loved the community and spent his retirement years working water patrol for the association. Saving lives, as he would say!

He lived a vibrant life, enjoying his margaritas, which were always half full, and his cigarettes well-lit. He had a passion for music, education, literature, art, gardening, boating, traveling, futball, hockey, and football.

He was always up for a lively debate, his extreme wit adding a spark to every conversation! He was described by many as a charming, proper English gentleman! A modest man with integrity, kindness, humor, intelligence, and generosity, Craig left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Craig is survived by the love of his life, Karen Millatti, their daughters Sarah Wiest and Andrea Schone, his grandsons Chris Schone and Kaiden Ostmann; his sister Jayne Barnes, nephews Randy & Ryan Barnes and Jonathan Reed; his niece Farrah Reed and great niece Audrey Barnes. He is also survived by his cousins Francoise Pickering, Alan Martin, Susan, David, Sara, Adam, and Gary Hinchliffe. He will be dearly missed by his best friends, whom he considered brothers, including Mark Peavler, Brian Knapp, and Ross Millatti.

A LIFE WELL LIVED!
