Craig Evans Woods, age 75, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Kansas, Missouri on August 28, 1946 to Cecil and Velma Woods (nee Storms).
Craig and Linda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May. Craig and Linda raised their two kids, David and Caroline, mostly in West County, MO. Craig took such joy in providing for and sharing his life with Linda. She was always first in his thoughts.
One of his lifelong objectives was taking care of his family. He put family first and strived to not only make sure all their needs were met but that they wanted for nothing. Craig was a generous man and didn't ask for anything in return.
Craig was an animal lover and always doted on his pets. He was an "animal whisperer." Animals seemed to know he was gentle and just wanted to love them.
Craig grew up primarily in Kansas City, MO with his parents and younger brothers Curtis and Clark. Craig's loving nickname for his baby brother, Clark, was Peanut (a term of endearment he continued to use even though Clark is in his 60's). He proudly served two tours in Vietnam and ended his military service as a Sergeant in the Army. Craig received a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam.
He was a very involved Dad and Papa. Craig was so proud of David's graduation from Police Academy and career as a Police Officer. He was proud of Caroline's numerous advanced degrees and especially proud of her as a mother to his two grandchildren. Craig was elated to become a Papa when Eren was born in 2006 and over the moon when his Ava-bobava was born in 2009.
Craig is survived by his Wife, Linda Woods; Son, David (Robin) Woods; Daughter, Caroline (Paul) Kaplan; Brothers, Curtis Woods, Clark (Nancy) Woods; Grandchildren, Ava Kaplan, Eren Kaplan and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Cecil E. and Velma Woods, and his beloved dog Sugar.
Craig will be deeply missed.
