Darlene F Claseman

Darlene F. Claseman, aged 92, journeyed peacefully to her eternal rest on December 25, 2024. Born on July 21, 1932, she brought joy and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Darlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life.

She is survived by her four daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Gilbert, AnnDee (Neal) Chastain, Nicki (Terry) Sparks, and Jill (Jay) Bell, along with her son, Tom Claseman. Darlene cherished her eleven grandchildren: Ronnie Alsop, Greg (Jen) Hoelting, Ricky (Melissa) Hoelting, Jessica (Craig) Langan, Rebecca (Andrew) Gerwitz, John Sparks, Tori (Tyler) DeKarske, Turner (Katie) Plackmeyer, Shana (Josh) Mitchell, Shawn (Zach) Reese, and Beckey (Dat) Chastain-Chu. Additionally, she leaves behind 21 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Harry A. Sullivan; mother, Calla M. Sullivan; husband, Leo Claseman; daughter, Kathi Plackmeyer; and great-grandchild, Drew Gerwitz. These loved ones hold a special place in her heart, and they are now reunited in spirit.

Throughout her life, Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family. She created countless memories with them, cherishing each moment. Additionally, she had a passion for watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, a pastime that brought her much joy and excitement.

Because of her love for the St. Louis Cardinals, the family suggests that guests wear their Cardinals attire to the memorial service. 

Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Darlene’s life at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, MO. The visitation will be held on January 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 12:00 PM. Her legacy will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.
