Darlene Kay Pezold, a beloved figure in her family and community, passed away peacefully at her home in St Charles, Missouri, on November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 11, 1959, in Florissant, Missouri, she was a source of warmth and generosity to all who knew her.
Darlene's Faith was evident throughout her life. She found her strength and peace in Jesus Christ. His Love was a guide, allowing her testimony to give hope to others. Her strength was drawn from knowing that she was saved by Grace through faith.
Darlene participated actively within her church, hosting church care groups, embodying her caring and nurturing personality. Her commitment to spreading God's word was reflected in her role as a Sunday School teacher, a Craft Leader at Vacation Bible School, and AWANA Leader. She led the youth with both her wisdom and a playful heart. Often she would create sayings and skits that made the children feel incredibly special.
Darlene was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, whose devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. She shared countless cherished memories with her granddaughter, Sophia, especially during the holidays when she would creatively plan and decorate to make unforgettable experiences. Her passion for crafting and themes extended beyond mere decorations; she instilled joy in every holiday gathering, always entertaining friends and family with an open heart and a welcoming spirit.
An accomplished individual, Darlene graduated Summa Cum Laude with her bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Darlene was well-loved and respected by her family and friends. Her love for entertaining drew people together, often gathering friends at her dinner table, while sharing moments filled with laughter and love. She loved going on vacations and traveling, especially with Sophia.
Darlene leaves behind her loving husband, John Pezold, their son James Pezold and daughter-in-law Jennifer Lees, and their precious granddaughter Sophia Pezold. She is also survived by her devoted parents, Marion and Mary Green, her siblings Marlene (Bill Chrum) Green-Chrum and Gary Green, as well as sisters-in-law Barbara (Gary) Collins and Debra (the late Victor) Jeffries. Darlene was also survived by many other members of her family and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her sons Daniel Pezold and Michael Pezold, her parents-in-law Donald and Patricia Pezold, and her brother-in-law Gary Pezold.
A visitation will be held on November 18, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. A funeral service will follow on November 19, 2024, at 9:30 AM at Grace Baptist Church in St. Charles, Missouri, concluding at 11:00 AM.
Darlene Kay Pezold's legacy of love, kindness, and hospitality will forever endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed yet lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
