Darrell Stevens

Darrell Stevens, age 84, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 in O'Fallon, Missouri. He was born in Stoddard County, Missouri on January 6, 1938 to Russell and Mary Stevens (nee Rodgers).

Darrell is survived by his daughter, Gina (Al) Genovese; granddaughters, Tara (Eric) Franklin, Kristen Stevens, Ashley (Joshua Ord) Simpson; grandson, Justin (Mandi) Stevens; two great-grandsons, Landon Youtzy and Adam Ord; three great-granddaughters, Gabriella Franklin, Skylar Hill, and Emery Stevens; two sisters, Sherry Hogg and Sandy Smiley; and brother, Roger Atchley. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Marva Sue Stevens; son, Tony (wife Mary survives) Stevens; father, Russell Stevens; and mother, Mary Atchley.


Darrell enjoyed a lengthy career in the automotive industry, retiring from Chrysler after over 20 years of service. He also loved to fish, and was quite accomplished, having competed in and won several Bass fishing tournaments. Darrell had a wonderful sense of humor, and his family firmly believes that "if he said it, it was funnier!" He is also remembered for his kind and generous nature, and was always looking out for everyone else. His loyalty and integrity served as an inspiration to his family. He meant what he said, and if he said he would do something, he would always come through. Nothing gave him as much joy however, as time spent with his family. Throughout his lifetime Darrell was a treasured son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
