Darrius Sanders, Sr., age 43, of Moscow Mills, Missouri passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 28, 1977, and is the son of William (Bill) and Muriel (Yvonne) Sanders (nee Collins).
He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Wesley-Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Wright City, MO. Darrius always loved music and singing. He was raised in the church and sang in the youth choir.
Darrius enjoyed his time being active in Tae Kwan Do where he achieved red belt status, cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys football team, wrestling, playing and coaching football, but his FAVORITE pastime was fishing. His passion was cooking, and he enjoyed his career as a chef. He honed his cooking skills working in a variety of restaurants, but truly became the chef he was by cooking at home. He would always try new recipes and unique ways of preparing food. He had many taste testers which included family and friends. He eventually found his home cooking at Taormina's in Troy, MO.
Darrius never met a stranger and had an infectious personality. Although he is no longer with us, we will fondly cherish his loving spirit, zest for life, and bright smile.
He is survived by his parents, William (Bill) and Yvonne Sanders; children, Darrius Sanders, Jr., De'Onte Sanders, Saraya Sanders, Devon Sweeten, Natalya Sanders, and Jase Sanders; grandchildren, Malia Tunison, Royal Sanders, Khai Deniston, and Kingsley Sanders; step-daughters, Olivia Tunison, Gracie Tunison, and Mariah Tunison; sister Kendra Clark and brother Ricardo Sanders; special friend, Jacqueline Sanders and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Tunison-Sanders.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
