David E. Erard, age 70, of Wentzville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on September 30, 1949 to Elmer "Bud" and Lillian Erard (nee Van Leuven).
David was married to Billijean Erard for 48 years, and, as Dave Moore, was a radio personality for 25 years. He was also in the Navy for 4 years, and served in the Coast Guard for 8 years. He was lucky enough to be stationed in Honolulu with his family for 4 years. David was an avid Karen Carpenter fan. His main focus throughout his life was his children and his grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
David is survived by his wife, Billijean Erard (nee Moore); his children, Therese (Mark) Cundiff, Joanne (Steve) Mercer, Liliana (Joseph) Meyer, and Margaret (David) Sanders; his daughter-in-spirit, Amy Byars; his 18 grandchildren, Kaycee, Jake, Allie, Geoffrey, Lili, Conrad, Evie, Christopher, John Paul, Eowyn, Violet, Joseph, Eliana, Adelyda, Gabe, Ava, Isaac, and Leo; and his best friend, Joe Graham. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer "Bud" and Lillian Erard.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Saint Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200). A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 1424 S 1st Capitol Dr, St Charles, MO 63303. Burial will be private
