David Wayne O'Shia, fondly known as Dave, was a beacon of joy and warmth in the lives of all who knew him. Born on August 11, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, Dave embodied a spirit that was both cheerful and resilient. He brought light into every room he entered, always wearing a smile and spreading laughter with his well-known phrase, "It's Friday!" This simple expression became a cherished reminder of the joy he found in life, and it resonated with friends and family alike.
Dave departed from this world on January 31, 2025, in St. Charles, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will forever be cherished by those who loved him. His beloved daughter, Crystal O'Shia, was the joy of his life, and he took immense pride in being a loving father. He is also survived by his devoted siblings, Diana (John) Persino and Duane O'Shia, and his constant companion, April Davis, who stood beside him through life's ups and downs.
Throughout his life, Dave cherished the companionship of his nieces and nephews—John (Jennifer) Persino, Jr., Angela (Alex) Persino, Louis (Lauren) Persino, and Nicole (Vinnie) Cariosia—each of whom held a special place in his heart. He was a constant source of support and encouragement to them, always creating treasured memories together. In addition to family, he gathered many friends throughout his life, forming bonds that will not be easily forgotten. Among these was his best buddy, his dog, Kash, who provided joy and comfort during their time together.
Known for his great sense of humor, loving nature, and cheerful disposition, Dave's presence was a gift to everyone around him. He possessed an innate ability to uplift spirits, never allowing challenges to bring him down. His love for hobbies like pool, horseshoes, motorcycles, and darts revealed his playful side and his passion for life. As an active member of the Elk's Lodge, he embraced community and connection, fostering friendships that extended beyond words.
Dave was predeceased by his loving parents, Louis and Betty O'Shia, as well as his beloved grandparents and aunts and uncles. Their guidance and love played a significant role in shaping the man he became, and he carried their memory within him throughout his life.
