David Poole

Dave Poole was born in Orlando, Florida and lived in many different places while growing up. He was an all-American man that loved his Harley Davidson, hot rods, and carrying a Declaration of Independence and Constitution pamphlet to hand out. He enthusiastically celebrated the Fourth of July where he would host three hour firework shows. That is until he married Wanda. When one upside down mortar went off besides their wood house, it ended that tradition.

His passion for Alabama "Roll Tide" began when he received a full football scholarship to Alabama. Though he suffered a severe knee injury that took away his opportunity to play, he stayed a lifelong fan.

One visit to his home and you would instantly see the green thumb he inherited from his mother in his backyard sanctuary. His passion for Westerns was evident to all that knew him. He could talk for hours about Westerns as he watched them all several times over. A true cowboy at heart. However all of his passions paled in comparison to one thing, and that was the love he had for his grandchildren.

Dave was a self taught pastry chef, creating a reputation so renowned he won many awards and was published in the newspaper multiple times. As a result of his talents he served and met many famous people, including Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr, and Andre the Giant.

David is survived by his Wife, Two Daughters, Rebecca Poole, Ami (John) Poole; Five grandchildren, Ashleigh Conner, Jasmine McCullough, Brayden Poole, Ava White, Keagan Shell; Brother, Steve (Joyce) Poole; Sister, Marilyn (Jack) Capps; Two Step-Sons, Philip Shell, Grant (Caitlin) Shell; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral Ceremony will be 12:00 pm Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at St. Peters Chapel.
