David was a proud Air Force/Army Veteran, beloved grandfather, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend to many (in fact, he never met a stranger). He made his living in the financial world as a CPA/Auditor and thoroughly enjoyed life with involvement in many organizations over the course of his life, including: Delta Chi Fraternity, Scottish Rite, Shriners, Rose Hill/Polar Star Masonic Lodge, KWVA, and the Florissant Barbershoppers. Among his many hobbies were: playing high school basketball, involvement in Boy Scouts of America, many travels both in the US and abroad, telling colorful stories and jokes, gardening, fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing euchre/card games and board games with family and friends and above all spending time with all of those that he loved. He very much enjoyed being the life of the party!
There were many moments of his life surrounded with music. As a youth, he sang competitively and played the sousaphone in college at Indiana University. As an adult he sang with the Florissant Barbershoppers, in the UCC church choir as a bass, enjoyed emceeing at the sing-alongs at the Missouri Veterans Home in North County and singing at the sing-alongs at Brookdale, St. Peters where he resided the last 6 years. He enjoyed attending musicals at The Fabulous Fox, The Muny and concerts at the St. Louis Symphony.
David is survived by his daughter, Eve Marie Corns of Saint Peters, MO, grandchildren, Andrew Swinney, Abigail Corns, and Nathaniel Corns; his nieces and nephews, Curtis (Maureen) Cook, Cheri (David) Ridge, Carla (Hans) Van Eyk, Christa Cook, Bill (Nancy) Rusch, Joe (Michelle) Rusch, Nancy (the late Jim) Dwyer, and Jim Mayer; and a host of other cherished family members and friends.
