Deborah Jean (Usrey) Azar, 70, went on to be with the Lord peacefully in her home on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024.
Deborah Azar was born on January 22nd, 1954 in New Madrid, MO to Kenneth Usrey & Elsie Aileen Usrey.
Debbie spent her early life as a caring mother focusing on raising her children and later began her career at TWA and Shelter Insurance, where she met her late husband, Tom Azar. Debbie loved to travel and explore the world. Her favorite city was Prague but London also held a special place her in heart. Her love of travel was rooted in her fascination with history and genealogy. She spent the latter part of her life building an extensive family tree dating back hundreds of years. Debbie was also very creative, making beautiful scrapbooks, handmade cards, and other creations for her friends and family to enjoy. She had a beautiful alto singing voice and an infectious chuckle-type laugh.
The most memorable attribute about Debbie though was her loving heart. Kindness and generosity were at her core, not just in word, but in her actions too. Debbie was a strong woman of faith who loved her family fiercely. She truly was the hands and feet of Jesus and is with him today. She will be remembered for the light she was to the world around her and the joy she brought to everyone she encountered. She would want you to know it is never too late to choose Jesus. He is already there waiting for you with open arms.
She is survived by Christina & Curt McGee (Daughter & Son-in-law), Jennifer & Patrick Wootton (Daughter & Son-in-law), Sara & Gerald Thompson (Daughter & Son-in-law), Tom & Lana Azar (Step-Son & Daughter-in-law), Joe Azar (Step-Son), Michael & Jennifer Azar (Step-Son & Daughter-in-law), Dawn & Damon Nelson (Step-Daughter & Son-in-law), Carole & Bill Whitehead (Sister & Brother-in-law), 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Tom Azar (Husband), Betty Usrey (Sister), Elsie Aileen Usrey (Mother), and Kenneth Usrey (Father).
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 am, at 2 Rivers Church, 96 Hubble Drive, O'Fallon, Missouri.
