Lake St Louis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Ann Layton, who left this world on December 27, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on December 10, 1954, to the loving parents William and Edna Layton, Debbie lived a life rich in love, laughter, and selflessness—one that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Dunn; her siblings, Colleen Layton, Kevin Layton and Joan Green. While her family feels the profound emptiness left by her absence, they take comfort in the cherished memories of her vibrant spirit and unwavering support.

She is survived by her cherished granddaughter, Kaelyn Dunn, and her partner, Tommy Humiston. Debbie was also looking forward to welcoming another great-granddaughter in June, alongside her adored great-granddaughter, Chandler Humiston. Her legacy lives on through her brother, Robert Layton, and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her, including Haley Meyer (Aaron Meyer), Casey Lyons (Nick Lyons), Shannon Layton, Tony Green (Holly Green), Matt Green, and Jason Layton.

Throughout her life, Debbie devoted herself to being a selfless caretaker, providing unwavering love and support to her family and friends. Her ability to connect with others was remarkable—she never met a stranger she couldn't engage in conversation, often chatting for hours, even if the other person didn’t respond. Her warm smile lit up every room, and her infectious laughter filled the hearts of everyone gathered around her during family events, creating joy that resonated for years.

Debbie had an immense love for animals, especially dogs, and tended to bring warmth to every soul she encountered. She loved spending her time with her great-granddaughter, Chandler, creating beautiful memories through silly songs and laughter that will be forever etched in the hearts of her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider planting a tree in Debbie's memory. This gesture reflects her deep love for nature and the way she nurtured everyone around her, echoing her spirit of growth and love.

As we celebrate the life of Deborah Ann Layton, let us remember her as a beacon of kindness, joy, and unwavering support. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish every moment, connect genuinely with others, and embrace the joy found in simple moments. Rest in peace, dear Debbie. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
