Deborah "Lee" Pearson, born on April 13, 1951, in Illinois, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her when she passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in St. Charles. Lee was a vibrant and dedicated individual whose life journey was rich with love, service, and creativity.

A jack of all trades, Lee’s career spanned multiple fields, showcasing her exceptional talents and unwavering dedication. She served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where she earned her Nursing Degree through the Military. Her commitment to caring for others continued as she specialized in palliative care, touching countless lives throughout her nursing career. Later, she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Business from Lindenwood University in 1981, further proving her aptitude as a formidable business executive. Lee also explored her creative side as a cosmetologist and interior designer, demonstrating that her talents knew no bounds. She was even a part of the design team at Boise Cascade, leaving her mark and creativity that led to the Pringles can and the popping biscuit containers.

Lee's love for life extended beyond her professional endeavors. She was a wonderful cook, known for her ability to gather family together for special dinners. Memories of those gatherings will forever be cherished by her loved ones, who enjoyed sharing hearty laughter and delicious meals in her warm home. Lee had a bubbly and energetic personality that drew people in; she always had a genuine concern for the well-being of others, making her a beloved friend to many.

Her artistic abilities shone brightly through her passion for painting, while her love for gardening allowed her to cultivate beauty in her surroundings. Lee was also an enthusiastic golfer, often spending precious time outdoors and enjoying the natural world around her.

Lee is survived by her devoted husband, Marty Pearson; a loving daughter, Meghan Metz; and a son, Micah Heppermann, along with his wife, Angie. The pride in her life also stemmed from her five grandchildren: Orin (Todd) Trotter, Haley (Ty) Vasterling, Kira Heppermann, Landon Metz, and Katherine Metz, who will carry her legacy forward in their hearts. Lee shared a special bond with her three brothers, Tony Grill, Steve Grill, and Michael Grill, alongside a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her cherished mother, Charma Lee Scott; her father, Richard Leslie Grill; her son, Thomas James Grill; and two sisters, Becky Heppermann and Annette Grill. Their memories will always be intertwined with hers, forever remembered in the stories shared and the love that continues to resonate.

A visitation will be held in her honor on January 17, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, followed by a memorial service from 6 PM to 7 PM.
